Collection & Delivery Options
Thank you for considering Kent MX5 Services for your engine refurbishment.
Whilst we will be accommodating to all scenarios, we do have a strict policy in place regarding the delivery and collection of vehicles.
We have a new 600 sq.ft engine refurbishment workshop based in Bexhill on Sea in East Sussex, officially the birthplace of British Motorsport which is quite fitting. However, due to both location and council restrictions, and believe it or not, insurance restrictions, we cannot accept customer’s cars being driven to and from the premises by customers. Whilst we have secure storage for vehicles, our workshop is now purely registered for engine refurbishments and not general motor trade work.
So what are your options?
We do offer a collection and delivery service throughout the UK, albeit this can be rather costly as we charge delivery on both ways per journey. Some customers are happy for this service, and it is offered as our part of our VIP packages. This enables them to meet and greet me personally, put a name to the face so to speak etc etc.
There are car delivery services available like Shiply Car Transport Services. They are a UK based business where you put your job out to tender, and wait for quotes to come in. You then do your due diligence and decide who to go with from there. More than likely a more cost effective option, but please be aware that it is important you check out the individuals concerned and whether or not you’re happy to entrust your car to them. When cars are received via 3rd party transportation firms, photographs are taken our end for record purposes, and sent to the customer. Please note that we have no affiliation to Shiply, they are mentioned purely as a suggestion.
Another option, and a popular one it has to be said, is to meet the customer at a location, and return home via train. We have close access to train links to London, the furthest of which is an hour and half away. Again, you will be met by me in person at a station or near one, and we can drop you off to the local train station if needed. This gives you the option of making a day of it at places like Battle, Hastings, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells etc. Please note that there will not be any charge for collection etc from Battle or Hastings, however a small fee will be added for stations further afield, i.e. Tunbridge wells etc will be an additional £50 to cover the additional journey time to and fro.
And finally, another option and this is of course dependent on your membership, but we do have customers that have had their car delivered by the AA / RAC etc which is a free, and a somewhat more safer option than using an unknown recovery person.
