Engine Rebuild Services
Over the years we have realised through our customers that in the MX5 community, the cars originality can be of the upmost importance.
We offer a comprehensive range of engine re-build services, with various options available - something that's no longer offered by main dealers.
Engine-related services that we provide include:
- Full MX5 engine re-build
- Partial engine re-build (crank swap or bottom end re-build)
- Engine remove and fit service (using a donor engine supplied by you)
- Fully re-built MX5 engine supply
Please note we only carry out our engine rebuild work on standard MX5 engines.

Engine Re-build Costs & Options 2023**
Costs below are based upon re-build of an existing engine supplied to us. Supply of engine is extra.
All costs are based upon prior diagnosis of the engine build requirements before being supplied to us.
We carry out work according to the advice provided to us, therefore please use a suitable source for diagnosis.
**These are subject to further change for 2023 at our discretion due to increased supplier costs to us.

PLEASE NOTE THAT A VAPOUR BLASTED FINISH ON ENGINE COMPONENTS IS EXTRA, AND NOT INCLUDED AS A STANDARD FINISH ON THE SERVICES ABOVE. THIS FINISH IS AN ADDITIONAL £300 ON MK1 &MK2 ENGINES, AND £400 ON ALL NC ENGINES.

Prices quoted** are based upon re-build i.e. engine supply not included
STANDARD ENGINES ONLY!
(Sorry but we no longer offer this service for modified engines)
Prices include*:
- Parts, labour, VAT, removal and fit of the engine, fluids, checks etc (excl. Option 1)
- Machining such as honing, crank regrinding and/or polishing, replacement of serviceable parts
- A serviceable unit i.e. no excessive damage to main engine components
- The main engine unit only (block and head) - also known as the long block - not the ancillaries
Excludes:
- Extra machining e.g. head skim, replacement of damaged valve seats, over-boring, re-lining
- Replacement of damaged main engine components
- Supply or replacement of engine ancillaries
- Car or engine collection and delivery costs
- Supply of the engine itself – these prices are based upon work carried out to an existing engine which is supplied to us

We have an excellent reputation and we're renowned for our engine refurbishments - for our customers throughout Europe and the UK.
Full engine rebuild process:
- All engines are completely stripped to component form, thorughly cleaned, fully inspected and measured to check they are all within Mazda specified tolerances.
- All machining is carried out, and then the engine is reassembled using new servicable components.
Additional notes:
- We do sometimes hold fully or partially rebuilt engine units in stock.
- We may have used and refurbished engine components, parts and ancillaries available.
- Delivery of complete and partial engines within the UK and Europe.
We offer a full 12 month/ 8000 mile (whichever is soonest) warranty on all parts for FULL engine rebuilds / exchange engines built and installed by ourselves. Terms and conditions apply.
